New EP + LP in the making
Its been a bit slow on the production side due to the work on the 2nd The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble album. But the collab with DEFORMER is nearly finished. Work has started on the new 5th Bong-Ra album...hopefully it will be done early 2009.

Bong-Ra 'Vitus Blister EP'(Zhark Int. 12018)
Yes!! Finally the release is gonna be out in July!! Its taken a while but Zhark Records got the vinyl pressed and its ready to hit soon!
Church bells shatter against a backdrop of lightning speed breaks while sinister creatures take shape in deep caverns. Bong-Ra transports the listener back to the demonic rites of the middle ages by summoning four apocalyptic pieces of his darkest work to date on the latest vinyl installment from Zhark International.
Blending high-definition Breakcore with harrowing strings and crushing screams, the 12" kicks off with "Nomina Nuda Tenemus" - a dense ride straight into occulted secrets guarded by Gregorian Monks.
"La Plume De Ma Tante" follows with sweltering bass terror and overwhelming blasts of precision beat sequencing, a must for any Breakcore DJ or Headbanger alike.
The flip side offers a slightly more subtle approach which starts with "Naai De Duivel In Zn Reet". This piece features intensely mangled breaks grinding against bloodcurdling vocal samples and hyperspeed DnB detonations - closing with sliding ambiance leading into the final chapter of this audio incubus.
On "Zumo de mis Cojones Oscuros", Bong-Ra offers a splintered sliding percussive deluge and a tearing mise en scene which harks back to some of his more experimental releases like the "Praying Mantis EP".
Melding classic dancefloor bombast with fiendish aggression and tortured screams - Vitus Blister marks a return to truly malevolent sonics, for both label and artist alike.

Köhnen vs Nottelman

Last November I played an amazing live improv Breakcore set at the Re:Created Festival with Danish free-jazz drummer Morten Nottelmann, a distinguished gentleman with incredible musical talent. Maybe we will be doing more collabs in the future, until then...heres a peak!

10 years Anniversary coming up!
In April it will be exactly 10 years since my first official release 'Darkbreaks Vol1' on Djax records. Also it will be 12,5 years since I started Bong-Ra, so i thought this would not be a cause for celebration!
there might be a refix/remix Ep appearing, but you'll have to wait on news for that.
Watch out for a special new Bong-Ra Mix with old and new material!!

Upcoming Stuff / Just out
Just some last news before the wedding bells go ding-dong.
More Bong-Ra on Ad Noiseam. After many requests the 2005 'Grindkrusher' and the 2007 'SickSickSick' 12" will be released on a CD with a special poster with both 12" covers on it, release date somewhere in October. Limited Edition!
The 'Vitus Blister' will be coming out on Zhark in the fall, not Sublight as was previously planned.
Peace Off sublabel RUFF will release the 'Sissy Spacek' track in September. Starkey will be doing the flipside, the split with Deformer will also appear on Peace Off end of this or early 2008.
As for Deathstorm, Glowstyx and a new The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble EP.
Just out is the Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation the TKDE live project. Check Ad Noiseam for more info.

Mr and Mrs Bong-Ra's Wedding Bash!! 07-07-2007!!
As some of you might already know, me and the misses are getting hitched on Saturday the 7th of July! We're throwing a huge party in Tivoli (Utrecht, Holland). My favourite artists and nicest friends will be dropping some heavy wedding tunes to make the night one of the most memorable ever! You are all more than invited to come along and party!

What's Up ?
So, I've been cutting back on performing to refresh myself with new vitality for making more music.
Work in progress on different projects. Firstly, the Peace Off 12" with Deformer, which, will have the 'Ori Ede' track on it + 2 or 3 more tunes in the same rocking vein!
Finally, it seems that the Bong-Ra Shockout release will see life after a 2 year delay! It will feature the 'Down But Not Out' and 'Up But Not In' tracks which have been on my MySpace page for a while. I think Kid 606 will be doing the flipside.
The Glowstyx rave album is nearly finished...probably my 'happiest' tracks ever...should be good for summer afterpaties! Cock Rock Disco will be releasing it before the summer, if all goes well!
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble's 2nd album is in the make. We are working/recording the album with the whole band, and will be trying to give the new album a 'livelier' feel to it. In between the two TKDE albums Ad Noiseam will be releasing The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation live album 'Doomjazz Future Corpses!' in September. The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation is the ambient/drone/improv alter ego of The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, we will be doing more releases like this one in the future too.
Fathme Records is in the progress of production for the Deathstorm debut LP scheduled for May or June. The artwork by Fighting is awesome!!!

Rebeltronics / Treblesonics
After the succes of the 1st Rebeltronics in December 2006 with Venetian Snares, Deformer and Bong-Ra. The Rebeltronics night will be on a once-a-quaterly basis. So, 4 times a year. The next edition on the 23rd of March 2007 will be featuring: Vex'd, Current Value, DJ Scotch Egg and Vytear and Eustachian. For tickets go to TIVOLI

Treblesonics is the analog variation of Rebeltronics. Focussing on weird (mostly) guitar orientated shows. From improv noise to monotone drones. Yes! The Slaytronic tune will be appearing on vinyl! An older version was posted here a few months ago, and the new and improved track together with 3 other metalbreaks tunes will be released on Ad Noiseam.
The SickSickSick EP is a follow up to the 'Grindkrusher EP', the first in a rebirth of metal and breaks combination. Artwork specially designed by Gutsman Comics, which is a little reminiscent of the old Repulsion artwork.

Japan 2006
The Japan tour was awesome! Big thanks to Ka4u, Ume, Ove-Naxx, Maruosa, Doddodo, Gulpepsh, John, aaaa, Hikari and the whole 'Osaka Crew' for a memorable week. I will be putting up an extended story when its all sunk in. Ka4u's photos have been added to the pict list! More soon!

Kenji Siratori vs Bong-Ra
A team up between cyberpunk writer Kenji Siratori (www.kenjisiratori.com) and Bong-Ra will be bringing interesting new tunes for 2007. Kenji is one of the pioneers in cyber literature.
"I believe that the novel becomes a cultural trigger-but this requires the digital narrative of nerve cells that had the creature intensity-simultaneously we must perceive the instant when the novel is networking as a part of the human body emulator."
Kenji Siratori Acidhuman Project is the follow-up to Siratori's unique cyberpunk classic Blood Electric, which was acclaimed by David Bowie, among others. Kenji Siratori is a Japanese author delivering "the reality of symbolic violence."

Sickboy vs Bong-Ra 'Shotgun Wedding' Mix CD for Violent Turd/Tigerbeat
Miguel 606 asked us to do the next tag team for the Shotgun Wedding Mix Cds on Violent Turd. Release will be after the summer. This should hopefully coincide with the Bong-Ra remixes on Shockout, which will also see dDamage on the release!
The tunes for Shockout have been on mySpace for a while, the 'Down But Not Out' tune.

May seems to be the team-up month I guess. After 2 incredible improv electro-grind sets with Maruosa in Japan, we've decide to do a small collab to get the energy of the improvs onto vinyl...

I've been bugged about some DNB-ish mashups of Leila K and Felix rave tunes I did couple of years back in 2002/2003 under the Sucker DJs pseudonym. So to quit the buggin' here are the 2 tracks on 320 kpbs. These are the unmastered versions, I lost the mastered ones last year. I will leave em on till May. Work is in progress for a clip of 'Spiegeltje met Lijntjes' track off the Soldaat van Oranje CD. The track is a collab with Dutch rap posse D.A.C. It will probably only air in Holland.
